DENPASAR, STIGMA.CO.ID – elections, and Pilkada are the main pillars in a democratic country, which provide opportunities for the people to elect leaders and representatives of the people in determining the future direction of the Indonesian nation. Since the election stages were launched by the General Election Committee (KPU) on June 14, 2022, political dynamics in Indonesia have begun to become dynamic, especially since a number of political parties and combinations of political parties have begun to establish political communications to build coalitions with each other, and these political dynamics will continue to change and develop until the completion of the General Election and Pilkada.
This was conveyed by the head TNI Babinkum in his speech read by Kaotmil III-13 Denpasar, Colonel Chk Yulianto Catur Saraswanto, S.Si, S.H., and M.H. at the Socialization of the TNI Neutrality Pocket Book in Elections and Regional Head Elections and the Guidebook for Resolving Criminal Acts or Election Violations and Pilkada, which was held by Babinkum TNI Headquarters and attended face-to-face and virtually on Thursday (9/11/2023) in the Supardi Makodam IX/Udayana Hall, Jl. Udayana Denpasar, Denpasar.
It was further stated that in order to realize elections and local elections with integrity in 2024, it will be a test for the Indonesian nation, including a test of “TNI neutrality”. The TNI, as the front guard and the nation’s last bastion, has a central role in maintaining security and order and making the 2024 elections and regional elections a success. For this reason, every TNI soldier needs to understand the rules regarding elections and regional elections.
By holding the TNI neutrality pocket book and guidebook, it is hoped that participants will be able to gain insight into knowledge about TNI neutrality in welcoming the 2024 general election and Pilkada.
On this occasion, Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., in his speech read by Kakumdam IX/Udayana Colonel Chk. Ainuddin Komaruddin, S.S., S.H., M.H., said that the TNI, through Babinkum TNI, held this socialization to unite perceptions in obtaining explanations, understanding, and confirmation regarding TNI neutrality as well as procedures for resolving criminal acts or violations in elections and regional elections. The TNI’s commitment not to engage in politics is practically a political decision aimed at making the TNI focus more on internal organizational structuring towards the TNI’s identity as a People’s Army, Warrior Army, National Army, and Professional Army.
The Military Commander hopes that all participants will really carefully follow this socialization and ask the sources about things that are not clear because, considering the importance of a neutral attitude for the success of the democratic test as well as building unit solidity, TNI professionalism and TNI neutrality must be truly understood, internalized, and implemented in the lives of TNI soldiers.
Present on this occasion were: TNI Legal Development Agency Inspector Brigadier General TNI Roedhi Soejono, S.E., S.H., M.H., Waaspers Kasdam IX/Udayana, as well as participants in the face-to-face socialization, which was attended by civil servant soldiers from the Denpasar Garnisum and virtually joined by units from the ranks of Korem 161/WS and Korem 162/WB.
